Samsung S22 Users Face Expensive Repairs After Update Failure

Samsung Galaxy S22 users are wrestling with serious issues after installing the One UI 6.1 update. Several complaints of boot loop problems, overheating, and random reboots have been circulating online. The update planned to improve device performance and bring AI features to the Galaxy S22 series has instead left many phones unusable. Galaxy users are quite annoyed due to this update failure. Some even took to social media to express their frustration. A user on Samsungโ€™s official forums stated:

โ€œThe boot loop issue after the One UI 6.1 update is clearly widespread, and I want to gauge just how big this problem really is.โ€

Galaxy S22 Woes: One UI 6.1 Update Bricks Phones, Leaves Users Frustrated

The issue appears significant, with affected users reporting cycles of constant restarts or freezing.ย According to sources, the problem seems to disproportionately affect devices with Samsungโ€™s Exynos 2200 chipset, commonly found in international variants of the S22 series. The devices sold in the US, powered by Qualcommโ€™s Snapdragon chipset appear to be less prone to the boot loop disaster.

There have been no official words regarding the root cause yet, however, the issue is likely tied to a motherboard fault triggered by the update. This leaves many S22 users in a tough spot, particularly as warranties have likely expired for devices released in early 2022. Motherboard replacements could lead to hefty repair bills for those out of warranty. Samsung has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. The tech giant should acknowledge the issue and offer free motherboard replacements for affected units.

Updates released since September 2024 have failed to fix the underlying issues. If you own a Galaxy S22 and are facing random crashes, overheating, or boot looping, contact Samsung support immediately. This isnโ€™t the first time the tech giant has faced backlash over problematic updates. However, the scale and severity of this issue is quite alarming.
