Samsung Set to Unveil First 4:3 Foldable Phone at Galaxy Unpacked 2026

Samsung Electronics is preparing to introduce a new lineup of devices at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event, scheduled for July 22 in London. The company will also launch new foldable smartphones, smartwatches, and its first pair of AI-powered smart glasses.

One of the biggest highlights of the event will be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which will become Samsung’s first foldable smartphone with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The wider display will offer a more tablet-like viewing experience when unfolded.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner screen. It will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th Gen processor and offer storage options of up to 1TB. Samsung is also likely to increase the battery size to 4,800mAh, around 9% larger than the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Alongside the Fold 8, Samsung will also introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which will retain the familiar 3:2 aspect ratio. The Ultra model will stand out with a 200MP main camera as part of a triple-camera setup and a 5,000mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever used in the Galaxy Z Fold series.

The company will also launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8, its next-generation clamshell foldable smartphone. Depending on the market, the device may be powered by either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor or Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chipset. Reports suggest it will keep the same 4,300mAh battery, 50MP main camera, and 12MP ultra-wide camera found in the previous model.

Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones could see a slight price increase due to rising component costs. Industry reports suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (256GB) may start at $2,099, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (256GB) could be priced at around $1,899.

In addition to smartphones, Samsung will introduce its long-awaited Galaxy Glasses. Developed in partnership with Google, the Android-based smart glasses will support AI-powered features such as voice assistance, real-time translation, navigation, and visual search through an integrated camera. Samsung is also working with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to create a stylish and wearable design.

With a refreshed foldable lineup and the debut of AI-powered smart glasses, Samsung will make Galaxy Unpacked 2026 one of its most significant product launches in recent years.
