Samsung VC Jay Y Lee Fights Back Tears as Korean Prosecutors Seek 12 Years Jail. Lee has been caught on the basis of corruption charges in March, 2017 that he offered bribe to former Korean President Park Geun-hye to help him while acquiring a tech company in Korean.

During his last trial on Monday, Lee fights back with tears while requesting the jury that all the charges imposed on him are not true and the court must investigate more on the issue.

Lee will face longest-ever jail imprisonment in South Korean history being a voice president of a tech company in case he is found guilty after the court final verdict.

He is also accused of the charges that he wrongfully transferred some valuable assets to the overseas while hiding the proceeds of a crime.

“I have never asked anyone, including the president, for anything for the company or my personal gain. I deeply regret that I have given such disappointment and apologize.””

Said Lee in a final statement while his voice was wavering and he holded back tears.

Whereas, the lawyers of Lee had argues and states all charges against him as false and exaggerated up till now.

The company had said nothing regarding Lee and maintained silence. Jung-hoon, the fund manager at HDC Asset Management said that:

“It (Samsung Electronics) is doing well now, but will his absence show up in its performance two, three, five years from now? That’s the question.”
