SCAM SCAP: WhatsApp ‘Martinelli’ Warning will WIPE your Phone

WhatsApp users are being warned about a hoax message. This scam leads users to believe that their phone will be completely wiped and they will not be able to fix it. This scam is known as  WhatsApp ‘Martinelli’ Warning.
However, it is just a scam. A message spreading around WhatsApp warns about a dangerous threat is itself a scam. The message, that instructs the user to pass it on to their friends, says that a video is about to come out that could endanger people. However, there does not appear any “Martinelli” video, and WhatsApp users are not in any danger.

WhatsApp users are passing on the message in order to keep their friends and family safe. Well, that is leading the warning to spread quickly across the platform, despite the fact that the video it is warning about does not seem to be real.
The message also warns about WhatsApp Gold, which instructs people not to click on any messages advertising it or offering upgrades. It is true that is a scam.
Messages about WhatsApp Gold offer a range of extra features for the platform. However, when people click on links, they are actually directed to malicious websites, which then attempt to take over their phones.
