Dark Reading, a cyber-security news site has revealed that Pakistani hacker, Shahmeer Amir has been ranked the third most proficient bug predator in the world.
Shahmeer Amir Ranked 3rd Among World’s Best Hackers
The 21-year-old Multan- born hacker, has found and reported around 870 bugs at a very early age. He comes under the classification of ethical hacker, who is answerable for tracing bugs or security gaps in websites and taking them to light. In essence, ethical hackers help set websites security so that deceitful hackers do not exploit these weaknesses.
Amir has scraped in $150,000 by reporting bugs, or faults in a computer program or system, to more than 300 organizations around the world. Tech giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Twitter, LinkedIn and Dropbox, are the organizations where he has offered his services. HackerOne has placed him the number one hacker in Pakistan and overall he is 11th.
Due to his substantial accomplishments in reporting and fixing bugs, Shahmeer has been summoned to DEFCON. It is one of the leading global hacking events. Apart from that he is also working on ventures to better secure the Pakistani cyberspace from internal and external intimidation. Such surprising achievements at such a young age are extraordinary. Shahmeer has earned fame for Pakistan on international stage
At present, Amir is based in Lahore. He is handling his own cyber security startup, Cyphlon, with his own team of six persons. The startup is led by Plan9 of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
