Sindh Removes Internet Taxes and Reduces GST on Telecom Services. The Sindh Board of Revenue (SBR) has removed taxes over the DSL, Broadband and other internet services. Also the Sales Taxes (GST) on other telecom services are reduced by the Sindh Government.

Previously this tax was charged at 19.5% rate and now it is effectively reduced to 0%, if charges remain as below as Rs. 1500 for up to 2MB connection For the connections with a broadband connection greater than 4 MB, the GST of 19.5 % will still be applied. This initiative is quite worth praising as Sindh is Sindh is unfortunately a backward province and this move will definitely prove a positive step in its technological development.

This step to remove the heavy tax of 19.5 % on internet is a very good step. As Pakistan is witnessing a high growth in internet and mobile broadband penetration hence, this initiative will further increase the rate of penetration in the country. And Pakistan will proudly stand in the list of most connected country.

Let’s see when other provinces also removes this tax and help mobile users to get rid of high telecom taxation.

    Sindh has the capital and Pakistan’s largest city ‘Karachi’ and still you call it backward? Yes, there are many people who lack facilities but don’t give any impression as if the rest of provinces are “developed”.
