Snapchat Introduces Augmented-Reality ‘World Lenses’

Snapchat keeps on introducing new things. This time it has brought some changes to their application on Android and iOS. The most prominent new feature is ‘World Lenses,’ which put on many augmented-reality effects to your back camera’s view of the world. This is similar in functionality to the current lenses. It is not restricted to images of faces.

There’s only a few to pick from right now, but they are a well-ordered effect. The ‘Go Vote’ lens applies a horn that fires confetti when holding down on the screen, for instance.

The other modification is minor in comparison, but longed-for even so. You can now hold down on a photo, be it on someone’s story or directly sent to you, to share it with someone. This appears in the message view to the receiver, so it’s easy for them to answer.

The final change in the new update is also comparatively small. You can now tap the left side of the screen to go backwards in the UI. This feature will be more stimulating for iOS users, as Android devices have an always-visible back button.

The Snapchat update (version9.43) is available for iOS and Android. It must already be available for everyone on the Play Store, but in case not, you can get the APK from APKMirror.
