Snapchat Releases First Voice-Activated Promoted Lens
Snapchat has launched a voice-activated AR effect as part of a promotion for the upcoming Warner Brothers movie ‘Shazam’. That shows Snapchat is looking to add another element to its lens.
When you access the new Lens, you can activate the effect by saying ‘OK, Shazam’. You can access the new lens by scanning the Snapcode on Shazam movie posters.

However, it is not the first time Snapchat has introduced audio within Lenses. It has also introduced a new set of Lens options which respond to both visual and audio cues last year.
Previously, Snapchat has reported that every day, a third of its 186 million daily active users ‘play with Lenses every day, so adding new elements to Lenses will increase the charm more.
According to a report by Cheddar, Snap will also announce a new mobile gaming platform – codenamed “Project Cognac”. The company will announce this feature on April 4 at a Los Angeles summit for content and developer partners. The new platform will be integrated seamlessly into Snapchat and should feature a number of third-party games designed to work specifically within the app.
