Sony is hitting the market this time by introducing its Y series devices. Today we will look at the latest device of X series. The device which we are going to discuss is “SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra“, is the latest machine of Sony which recently came into the market and its price in Pakistan is PKR.39,999/-. SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra Review – PKR.39,999/-

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra is 6.0 inches’ device with the capacitive touch screen that supports the resolutions of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is 4G supported device Furthermore the system has Octa-core 2.0 GHz processor. ROM is 32GB and RAM is 4GB while powerhouse has 2700 mAh fixed battery. Dual SIM options are supportive with dual standby. The camera lenses have 23MP lens for its back and the front camera is packed with 16MP.

Design and Display of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra has 6.0 inches’ device with IPS LCD touch screen. The display supports 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with 480 dpi which is considered as mid-range feature. Its multi touch has scored full 10 points in it.

If we talk about its design then first part is front body in which on top side it has front camera lens with LED notification light and network sensor. Down side has nothing on it except the air piece while the functional keys are working within in the screen plus it doesn’t have any bezel layer around its front body. Memory of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra has best memory section because it is a mid-range smart phone and in mid-range smart phone category, it is providing 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM. These choices are very good and with 32GB internal memory, you don’t need any memory card unless and until you are application and game lover. If you will fill your smart phone with too many applications and videos, it will slow your device.

The 4GB RAM is also a perfect choice for mid-range smartphones. We have tested SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra in every section and got not delays and lags.

Network/Connectivity of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra is 4G enabled device also with the access of 3G and 2G networks. The supportable speed of 4G is LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps and 3G is HSPA+ 42.2/5.76 Mbps. It is supportive for all the bandwidths of networks in Pakistan.

With LTE connectivity it is providing us some more connectivities such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Fm Radio. Wi-Fi supports the standards of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot while Bluetooth version is 4.2.

It is dual SIM enabled device further we can increase its internal memory up to 256GB by inserting a memory card in SIM 2 plot.

Camera of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

The camera section of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra has 23MP back camera lens and 16MP front camera lens. These both camera lenses makes a good combination for camera lovers. Lets have a look at these both camera lenses in detail.

23MP back camera lens, sounds super good. It is packed with f/2.0, 24mm, phase detection auto focus and LED flash light. The main features are 1/2.3″ sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, panorama and it can record video in 1080p@30fps with HDR. Some main modes are also available in it such as AR effect, creative effect and Time shift burst.

We have tested the back camera and the images results are satisfactory. The quality of images are very clear plus the brightness, color temperature and sharpness is very well balanced. Battery of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra carries a li-ion battery of 2700 mAh that will give four to five stand by hours of usage. The battery is non-removable and placed inside the removable back cover. 1 Amp of the charger will charge the battery completely in two hours. As we know this mobile has octa core processor so it will provide us average performance. It should have at least 3000 mAh or bigger battery.

Interface of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra has 6.0 inch display which runs android version of 7.0(Nougat) that will up-gradable to v8.0(Oreo). Let’s have a look of interface.

On lock screen network notifications are present on the top. Below of it you will find time and date widgets. camera icon is present at the right bottom that’s why there is no need to unlock the screen when you want to operate the camera. You can see Mic icon on left bottom. To unlock the screen you have to swipe right.

After unlocking the screen you will find time and date widgets on the main screen. You will find some applications arranged in a sequence on the main screen. On the bottom ob main screen there are three working function keys. Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra has file manager and file tray, where you will find all the applications. It has number of its own apps such as PlayStation, Xperia Lounge and Movie Creator. You will find a touch of bloatware too including Amazon, Kobo and AVG Apps, but you can delete them if you don’t need them or need some space. Processor of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra has Octa-Core 2.0GHz 64-bit type processor which is built on the architecture of ARM Cortex-A53. The chip set which is inserted in SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra is Mediatek MT6757. The chip set is highly excellent performing chip and it is better than any quad-core processor.

This chip set has a modem which works mainly in analog signals such as mobile signals. So with it, we can receive better signal coverage as compared to any other device. We have not observed any kind of heating issue in it while charging it or using the camera.

Antutu Benchmarking of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

Antutu Bench marking has played an important role to check the device performance. We have tested it and it has scored 62907 points which are very satisfactory.

Vellamo Benchmarking of SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra:

Vellamo Bench marking conduct three tests which are chrome browser test, metal test, and multi-core test. SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra has scored 3502 points in chrome browser test, 1358 points in metal test and 2196 points in multi-core test.

The device SONY XPERIA XA1 Ultra is packed with good features and mainly this device is for big-screen lovers because it has 6 inches’ screen size. It has performed well in every section but its battery has disappoint us and the price is too high as compare to other brands. Sony should look at the prices if they want good response from users.
