Tameer Bank Partners with Punjab Govt to Give Interest Free Loans to Farmers

Tameer Bank, Pakistan’s leading microfinance bank has joined hands with the government of Punjab. It has partnered for the implementation of its significant digital interest free loans scheme worth Rs.77 billion to 4,75,000 farmers through Punjab.

The striving enterprise will employ Tameer Bank and the country’s notable mobile banking channel, Easypaisa to support and accelerate the loan disbursal scheme. Other than this its aims to serve as a host of digital and technological services to kindle overturning agricultural yield.

The corporation will go on to fortify the cooperative efforts. In order to boost Pakistan’s standing as a major agricultural country by increasing overall yield and output of the crops.

This will also alter the socio-economic position of the country by offering digital loans, digital disbursements and compensation to farmers across Punjab. The scheme will not only provide interest-free loans but will also address much awaited issues faced by native farmers.

To support farmers profit from the host of digital services, the government of Punjab will issue smartphones under the scheme. To permit farmers access to E-credit scheme (Digital Wallet), weather Alerts, Crop Calendar, E-Zarri Baithak, Agri TV and much more.

While commenting about the progress, President & CEO Tameer Bank Ali Riaz Chaudhry said:

The interest-free loan scheme is being headed by Ministry of Agriculture & Finance in funding from State Bank of Pakistan, Punjab Institute of Technology Board and Ministry of Finance.
