Tecno Maintains Strong Local Presence as Samsung Production Falls and Xiaomi Misses Top 10
New data shows Tecno maintaining strong local presence as Samsung production falls and Xiaomi misses Pakistan’s top 10.

Tecno has maintained a strong presence in Pakistan’s local mobile phone assembly and manufacturing sector, while Samsung’s production volumes have declined, and Xiaomi remains absent from the latest top 10 rankings.
According to the latest data from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Tecno produced 2.85 million units in 2024, making it one of the country’s major mobile brands in terms of local production.
Its output stood at 1.84 million units in 2025, while the brand recorded 1.38 million units during the first eight months of 2026.
Despite the decline from its 2024 level, Tecno has continued to remain ahead of Samsung in the locally assembled and manufactured devices shown in the data.
Samsung Production Continues to Decline
Samsung’s local production has followed a downward trend over the period covered by the data.
The South Korean brand produced 1.51 million units in 2024, with the figure falling to 1.06 million in 2025. During January-August 2026, Samsung recorded 1.01 million locally assembled or manufactured devices.
By comparison, Tecno recorded 1.38 million units during the same eight-month period, putting it around 370,000 units ahead of Samsung.
The figures indicate that Samsung’s local assembly volumes have weakened considerably compared with 2024, while Tecno has retained a larger presence in Pakistan’s local mobile manufacturing landscape.
Xiaomi Missing From Latest Top 10
Another notable feature of the data is the absence of Xiaomi from the top 10 brands shown for January-August 2026.
Xiaomi also does not appear in the 2025 top 10 list presented in the data, despite being a prominent smartphone brand in Pakistan.
The January-August 2026 ranking was led by VGO TEL with 2.45 million units, followed by Infinix with 1.98 million and Itel with 1.56 million. Tecno ranked fourth with 1.38 million units.
Other brands in the latest top 10 included Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Nokia, QMobile, and Airlink.
The data highlights the growing importance of local assembly and manufacturing in Pakistan’s mobile phone market, while also showing changes in the production footprint of individual brands.
However, the figures represent locally assembled or manufactured units, rather than overall mobile phone sales or market share. A brand’s absence from this particular top 10 therefore does not necessarily mean it has no presence in Pakistan’s broader smartphone market.
