Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 vs Galaxy Z Fold 6: Which Foldable Has Better Display?

The foldable smartphone market has witnessed notable advancements in recent times, with the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 emerging as prominent contenders. Both of the devices offer impressive displays, but how do they compare in real-world usage?

Display Specifications

The Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 features a 7.85-inch LTPO AMOLED main display with a resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its cover display measures 6.3 inches with a resolution of 968 x 2376 pixels, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, the device boasts a peak brightness of 2600 nits, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight.

In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is equipped with a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, offering a resolution of 1856 x 2160 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover screen is slightly larger at 6.4 inches, maintaining the same refresh rate. Samsungโ€™s display technology is renowned for vibrant colors and deep blacks, contributing to an immersive viewing experience.

Real-World Performance

Users have lauded the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 for its high brightness levels, which enhance outdoor usability. However, some critiques point out that the color calibration leans towards oversaturation, potentially affecting color accuracy for professional tasks. In addition, the smartphoneโ€™s larger screen size offers a more expansive viewing area, but the increased dimensions may impact one-handed usability.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 continues to impress with its color accuracy and display uniformity. The less prominent crease and increased durability of the screen have been highlighted by users as substantial improvements over its predecessors. Nonetheless, the deviceโ€™s high reflectivity can pose challenges in brightly lit environments, occasionally affecting visibility.

Our Opinion:

Both smartphones deliver commendable display performances, each with distinct advantages. The Tecno Phantom V Fold 2โ€™s superior brightness is advantageous for outdoor use, yet its color accuracy may not meet professional standards. Conversely, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers exceptional color fidelity and a refined design but struggles with screen reflectivity in certain lighting conditions. However, still, the Z Fold 6 edges out in multiple dimensions and is a clear winner in terms of foldable display.ย
