Tecno Surpasses Samsung and vivo in Pakistan’s Local Smartphone Production
Tecno has moved ahead of Samsung and vivo in Pakistan’s local smartphone assembly race during the first seven months of 2026, according to data shared by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
The data for January–July 2026 shows Tecno assembled or manufactured 1.06 million mobile devices, compared with 0.94 million units for Samsung and 0.90 million for Vivo.
Infinix remained ahead among the major smartphone-focused brands represented in the latest top-10 production chart, with 1.88 million locally assembled units during the seven-month period.

Itel also assembled 1.57 million devices during January–July, but its total includes both smartphones and feature phones. For that reason, its overall production cannot be treated as a pure smartphone figure without a model-level breakdown.

VGO Tel ranked first in the overall mobile-device assembly chart with 2.14 million units, ahead of Infinix at 1.88 million. However, its production includes a substantial number of feature phones, meaning the figure should not be used to rank it directly against smartphone-only brands.
The same applies to Itel, which operates across both the smartphone and feature-phone segments.
The distinction is particularly important because Pakistan’s local mobile manufacturing market remains almost evenly divided between smartphones and basic handsets. During January–June 2026, locally assembled production totaled 13.1 million devices, of which 5.78 million were smartphones and 7.32 million were 2G handsets.
Local manufacturing has become increasingly important to Pakistan’s mobile industry, helping meet domestic demand while reducing reliance on fully built imported handsets.
With five months of 2026 still remaining after the July reporting period, the full-year rankings may change. For now, however, the data shows Tecno strengthening its position ahead of Samsung and Vivo, while Infinix continues to lead among the major smartphone-focused brands represented in the latest top-10 chart.
