Telephones Booths Set up for Prisoners in Adiala Jail
According to sources at the prison, Punjab Prison Inspector General Farooq Nazir formally inaugurated the telephone booths installed in Adiala Jail on Monday.
The telephone facility had already been introduced at some district jails in Punjab as part of plans to improve facilities for inmates and is now being introduced at Central Jail Adiala.
The official said the calls are being monitored to ensure that the facility is not misused by the prisoners.
Since there are several accused terrorists at Adiala, telephone privileges would be allowed after several rounds of inquiry and security checks.
Well that’s and impressive step that has been taken so that prisoners can enjoy because they also sometimes need to call their family members or their lawyers for some important issue. And they have provided them with telephone facility that can be used once a week by the prisoners but their call will be checked which is necessary.
