Upon tapping three dots, “About This Account” option will be available on all individual accounts. This section will tell you such as:

  • Date the person joined Instagram
  • The country where they are located
  • accounts with shared followers
  • The username changes in last year
  • the ad’s run by them

In this way, you would be able to realize that whether the account is real or fake.

One can also request Instagram, to term them as a verified account. For this:

  • Go to Profile
  • Tap the menu icon
  • Check on settings

However, there is no guarantee that your account will be verified and you will get a blue badge.

For this, you will also need to provide your username for the account, full name and copy of your legal ID. Moreover, this system or process is just for streamlining the verification process. It will not give you blue badges.
