This Mobile AirBag can Save your Phone from Cracks

What is the worst fear of one’s life? It’s Breaking your smartphone’s screen or at least this is my worst nightmare. Many would laugh at this confession, however, those who love their smartphone will agree with me. Finally, a German engineering student, Philip Frenzel has found a solution to save your mobile screen and money of course, by creating a Mobile AirBag.

Ingenious Smartphone Case Acts Like Mobile Airbag To Protect Device When Dropped

People drop and break their smartphones all the time but soon this problem will be solved. Frenzel’s mobile airbag is a mobile case that senses your phone falling down and releases metal prongs that protects it from damage.

Frenzel is a student of Aalen University in Germany and has won an award from German Mechatronics Society. The mobile airbag is expected to launch on Kickstarter next month.

Here’s the demo video of Mobile Airbag:

How Mobile AirBag Works:

This smart case is equipped with sensors that detect when the phone is free falling and trigger a protection mechanism. More specifically, the case has springs on all four corners, with eight metal curls that will stop the phone from hitting the ground.

The Mobile Airbag look like a spider with big legs saving the smartphone screen from cracks and breakage. If a product somewhat similar to it comes in the market with improved design, it will save a lot of money we spend on fixing our screens.

There’s no end to the frustration of a cracked phone screenone mistake drop and you’re already pulling out your wallet. Maybe the era of the broken screen will come to an end soon.
