After reading my title, many would be thinking that it’s a joke or am trying to make a scene of the movie a reality. However, it’s not a joke. A scientist has made a time machine that can move particles a fraction of second into past.
Russian physicists claim that they have built a time machine that can move small tiny particles, even smaller than atom a fraction of second into the past by moving them in opposite direction of time’s arrow. THis is done through quantum computing.
Scientists have built the world’s first ‘time machine’ in an experiment which defies the laws of physics
The overall experiment involves electrons which are negatively charged particles join together to make an atom. The team managed to restore IBM’s public quantum computer to the state it had been a fraction of second earlier.
Lead researcher Gordey Lesovik said:
“We have artificially created a state that evolves in a direction opposite to that of the thermodynamic arrow of time.”
According to researchers, they carried on thousands of experiments on quantum system programmed to reverse time’s arrow on a single electron. After so many trails they were able to accomplish their goals.
According to the team, this reversal of time cannot be linked to actual teleportation of people to the past. Their research will help quantum computer scientists make sure their software is working fine by moving it through time and double checking the work, reported Futurism.
They also revealed that they are also working to move the time in future as well.
