The Galaxy A56 has recently cleared multiple certifications in China, including one from TENAA, the countryโs telecom regulatory authority. These certifications have provided official images, confirming previous leaks and revealing key design elements.
Redesigned Camera and Key Island Design
The TENAA listing showcases the Galaxy A56โs redesigned rear camera setup, which closely resembles the design seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This new design features a more streamlined camera bar with the LED flash positioned on the right.
The Galaxy A56 will also feature Samsungโs โKey Islandโ design, a raised platform on the side frame that houses the volume and power buttons. This design element has been previously used on other Galaxy A series models, including the A15, A25, and A55.
Expected Specs and Features
While the TENAA listing doesnโt reveal a comprehensive list of specifications, previous leaks and rumours provide a good overview of what the Galaxy A56 will offer:
- Processor: The device will come with the Exynos 1580 SoC, offering a balance of performance and efficiency.
- Display: The Galaxy A56 will feature an FHD+ AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, providing vibrant colours and fluid animations.
- Camera: The rear camera setup will consist of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro lens.
- Battery: The device will pack a 5,000mAh battery, providing ample power for all-day use.
- Charging: A notable upgrade includes 45W fast charging, a first for the Galaxy A series. This will allow for significantly faster charging times compared to previous models.
- Software: The Galaxy A56 will launch with Android 15 and Samsungโs One UI 7 right out of the box.
Launch Timing and Availability
Given that One UI 7 will likely debut with the Galaxy S25 series later this year, the Galaxy A56 will launch sometime in March, similar to the Galaxy A55โs release last year.
It remains uncertain whether the Galaxy A56 will be available in all markets, including the US. Last year, Samsung opted not to release the A55 in the US to avoid competing with its existing S23 lineup and the S23 FE. A similar strategy may be adopted this year.

A Strong Contender in the Mid-Range Market
With its refined design, powerful processor, improved charging capabilities, and potentially larger display, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market. It will be interesting to see how it compares to other devices in its category, particularly the Google Pixel 8a.
