Secretly all of us have had a dream to teleport to places we would love to visit, to people we would love to meet in person and to gain experiences through direct interactions which seem impossible practically. Well, a step towards the fulfilment of this dream has arrived. Technology takes you to the Virtual And Augmented Reality. Let us get straight to it!
What Is Virtual Reality(VR)?
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of technology to create a simulated environment to surround yourself with. It tends to place the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen, users are immersed and are made able to interact with the 3D worlds offered. By simulating as many senses as possible, such as vision, hearing, touch, even smell, the device is transformed into a gatekeeper to this virtual world. This is how a separate reality of our own can be formulated!
Today the main use of it has been the 3D video games and cinematic experiences.
What Is Augmented Reality(AR)?
Unlike VR, where the user is taken to a new dimension. Here virtuality is brought to the real world! And thus a new reality is formulated. Augmented Reality simulates artificial objects in the real environment.
Today the main use of it has been for the media industry in order to fake reality, in games such as Pokemon Go, social media apps and for professional uses like interior designing etc
Towards Faking A Real World
Although all of it seems to be a dream come true. With sugar and spice and everything nice. But for a sec if we wait to ponder over the fact that already how much we have parted from the real world into virtuality and how much more we can get into it without self-destructing ourselves? Will there come a time when it’ ll be impossible to differentiate between what’s real and what’s not? Will we be accustomed to living in a bluff?
In case, of VR what about the eyesight we may lose gradually due to such close contact with the dangerous screen radiations? And for AR what about the real reality when we will be busy focusing on the one created?
Let us control technology, for it may be lethal if given control over ourselves. Let us know what you think of it!
