As we all know that the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are very active nowadays in order to remove the content from the conservatives. Recently, we came to know that the Senate Intelligence Committee is going to hold a hearing on September 5. Jack Dorsey, Twitter chief executive, and Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook chief operating officer, are invited to the hearing. Moreover, Larry Page, Alphabet chief executive, has also been invited at the Senate Intelligence Committee Hearing.
The company executives will present their testimonies on Wednesday at the hearing. Their main focus will be the social media response to foreign influence operations. They will further discuss the actions of Twitter and Facebook on removing content from conservatives.
On Friday, President Donald Trump accused social media companies of silencing “millions of people” in an act of censorship. However, he didn’t provide any evidence. He wrote that:
While discussing it, Republican Representative Greg Walden, the panel’s chairman stated that:
“We look forward to Mr. Dorsey being forthright and transparent regarding the complex processes behind the company’s algorithms and content judgment call”
He further added that:
“The House Energy and Commerce Committee intends to ask tough questions about how Twitter monitors and polices content”
Let’s see how will the top executives of Twitter, Facebook, and Alphabet provide their testimonies. What will be their say about removing the content?
