When other apps are busy in facilitating their users with black backgrounds, Twitter has rolled out something different which has made it stand out in the crowd full of social media apps. Twitter OLED Friendly Dark Mode For Android, named “Lights Out” is finally rolling out in chunks. This dark mode for iOS users was launched back in March and Android users had to wait for long to get this feature on their devices.
Twitter OLED Friendly Dark Mode For Android is Finally Here
Last week, this feature was provided to those users who were using the alpha version of the app. Well its a part of testing process of any software, so it seems the feature is clean to reach everyone out there. Twitter’s old dark mode named “Dim” is quite different than this one. The lights out dark mode turn the app truly black due to which power consumption of the devices is radically reduced. With devices that support OLED displays, this dark mode will show the perfect results.
How to Enable Twitter Dark Mode- Light Outs?
TO enable this new battery saving mode on twitter, following these steps:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Privacy
- Now click on Display and Sound Menu
- You will see a submenu, “Dark Mode appearance”
- Upon clicking it you will get two options: Dim and Light Out
- By choosing DIM you will turn the app in dark blue colours
- By choosing Lights Out, the app will turn dark black.

If you don’t want your app to feature dark mode, you can turn it off at any time by tapping on the light bulb icon placed at the bottom of the slide-out menu.
