Twitter to Add an Edit Button

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was speaking at the Indian Institute of Technology that Twitter has thought about adding an edit button, which will help the users in order to fix certain mistakes only, such as a typo. However, the edit function would not let you make a change to a tweet which is dated a few months back.

It seems that Twitter is now seriously taking the suggestion of the users and will soon allow them to quickly correct a tweet because of a typo. Almost every user of Twitter has sent a tweet with a typing mistake that they wish that they could correct.

Twitter Might Soon Get an Edit Button

Jack Dorsey, CEO, Twitter said:

“We’ve been considering edit for quite some time, but we have to do it the right way. We can’t just rush it out, and we have to make sure that we’re actually solving the predominant reason why people would do it, first and foremost. And then not making something that’s distracting or takes away from the public record in doing so, because I think it’s really critical that we preserve that.”

He also said that Twitter will prevent unlimited editing because then anyone could abuse the feature to alter their controversial or damning statements later on. Twitter wants to implement a solution that solves a problem.
