Uber Officially Confirms to Enter Pakistani Market by the End of 2015

Entrance of Uber; the largest company that connects riders with drivers through their apps, has confirmed the growth of Pakistani telecom sector in many ways. Despite many challenges, Pakistan has made it and convinced Uber to come and help the transportation system of our country. Lahore will definitely be the target city from where Uber will start it’s services. Lahore already hosts such startups like rick-shaw hailing services. Savaree is another Pakistan-based service targeting easing Pakistan’s traffic problem with ride-sharing. Uber is next such service that will enter Pakistan by the end of 2015.

Uber’s entrance into Pakistan clearly indicates that how welcoming the country’s technological landscape is for development. The government has made greatest efforts in launching the spectrum auctions as it has launched 3G & 4G services last year in April 2014. Now Pakistan has 20 million mobile broadband users as per Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) which has ultimately convinced Uber to launch its services in Pakistan. Its reception from both the government and users is desperately observed.
