With the growing internet services, Ride hailing services are becoming very common and are launched on and of now a days. However the pioneers of online taxi service in Pakistan are Careem and Uber. Both these taxi services are striving to be the best than other hence launches new services for ease of their customers. However as we all know that Careem is termed much better as compared to Uber in terms of its campaigns, code etc. However time Uber has come up with the perfect solution of problems which their drivers were facing for so long. Uber has introduced some new features for drivers such as driver feedback. This Driver feed back includes arrival destination and time, long trip notification and paid waiting time among others.

Here is the list of new features Uber introduced for Drivers:

• Arrival destination time feature
• Long trip notification feature
• Paid waiting time feature
• Driver safety feature
• Driver Location Sharing feature

The new time and arrival destination feature facilitates drivers to set the arrival destination and time. This will help them in a way that when they accept a ride, they can go to a place where they need to be while dropping the customer at desired destination.

While announcing the new features, Uber Pakistan GM Safee Shah said:

“These features will result in more flexibility for drivers, create a stress-free experience, and build safety through our technology”.

As far as long trip destination feature is concerned, it allows drivers to accept rides without disturbing their own routines. Drivers will get notified if a trip is estimated to be 60 minutes or longer.

Uber has also worked more on drivers safety by introducing driver share trip feature. This feature allows drivers to share their location and trip statuses with friends and family. The driver is given right to share or stop share their location at any time they need. Other feature introduced is paid waiting time which enable riders to get more paid if rider makes them wait beyond the grace period.

The introduction of new features will definitely help Uber to get more drivers which will in turn increase their user base. The part time flexible work opportunities is an add on to work with the ride hailing services. If such flexible timings are merged with security and ease of driver, in no time Uber will be on the top of ride sharing app services in Pakistan.
