UC Browser Announces Online Competition between 3 Top Pakistani Celebrities

UCWeb, a portfolio company of Alibaba Mobile Business Group, has launched a campaign for UC News Hub with Wasim Akram, Waseem Badami and Imran Abbas who are currently competing for a Facebook Live Video by public vote. Earlier, UCWeb had announced News Hub as the 1st big data driven news aggregation platform for Pakistani users which would serve ads-free customized news to the users according to their taste.

Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani cricketer, said:

“UC News Hub can play an important role by providing latest news for promotion of sports in a country which has not seen an international cricket match for years. Pakistani cricket fans might not be able to go to an international cricket match but they can still get instant updates from News Hub with UC Browser.”

His participation with News Hub is the advocacy of the sports news published through the platform for millions of sports fans.

Representing the entertainment section of the News Hub, Imran Abbbas, who has won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his role in Creature 3D said:

“A platform which provides dedicated entertainment news to its users is something which has been found lacking in Pakistan. I believe UC News Hub can fulfil that role providing instantenous updates regarding the entertainment industry to the Pakistani youth”.

Waseem Badami, a distinguished anchor person for ARY Digital Network and the host of ‘11th Hour with Waseem Badami’,talking about his role as advocate for News Hub breaking news section, said:

Apart from contributing articles to News Hub, they are participating an online competition hosted by UC Browser in which the fans vote for their favorite news represented by these celebrities. Voting will be finished on September 5th and the winning celebrity will engage in a Facebook Live video with the fans where they will talk about their personal success stories and how they believe UC News Hub can create a positive impact upon the lives of the UC users.
