Ufone Apologizes for the Accidentally Endorsed Tweet

Ufone, one of Pakistan’s telecom service provider came on the hit list for liking an anti-government post updated on Twitter. The tweet which was liked by Ufone’s official Twitter handle that had ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in it with the picture of a goat.

Later on Ufone excused for the wrongdoing, and assured to inspect the issue and take serious action against those responsible for the happening.

“We regret & apologize for the inappropriate tweets today. We are investigating the issue & action will be taken against those involved.”

The telecom company tweeted.

On the other hand some media users took the matter in a refulgent way, while others believed it was absolutely inappropriate on account of the telecom operator to ratify such a politically tending post.

People were outraged by the incident and ‘#BoycottUfone’ also started trending on twitter. Some even broke their Ufone SIMs. Whereas others called it a ‘PR disaster’ for the telecom company.

It’s worth mentioning that brands should be really careful the way they tackle their social media accounts, with 10 times the internet population as compared to what we had two years before.
