Upaisa plans to introduce industry’s first Debit Card

Upaisa branchless banking service in Pakistan has reached Rs3.1 billion transaction since it was launched. The highest transactions were recorded with in Karachi. Other cities which followed the trend are Lahore and Faisalabad.

[/blockquote] Total transactions numbering 912,000 have been made including 601,000 financial transactions which show the confidence of the people in the new service.

Ufone’s branchless banking service has been launched with the largest network of more than 9,224 agents across the country. The company is now planning to increase the number of agents to 15,000 by the end of December 2013.

Cheema also highlighted that the “industry’s first Debit Card” will also be introduced by Upaisa soon. It will allow customers to not only withdraw cash from ATMs but also do transactions on Point of Sale (POS).
