A user spotted the biometric authentication implementation in WhatsApp had a bug. That allows anyone to get access to WhatsApp without going through Touch ID or Face ID. However, WhatsApp then confirmed the presence of the bug. At that time, the company also gave the confirmation that soon it will release a fix. So WhatsApp has now released the update that is available in App Store.
Last month a user also discovered privacy bug with Apple’s FaceTime group video chat software, that allowed iPhone users to see and hear others before they accept a video call. In order to fix that ug, Apple rolled out an iOS update to fix the issue.
WhatsApp for Android didn’t get any bug like biometric authentication feature, so we can say that Android users are safe.
