USF to Provide 3G Connectivity in Far Flung Areas of Pakistan: Anusha

The Minster of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman at the inauguration ceremony of National Data Center yesterday announced that USF to Provide 3G Connectivity in Far Flung Areas of Pakistan very soon. The Minster shared a huge list of areas including FATA and northern localities that are actually not included in the coverage areas of any telecom operator of Pakistan. Hence, USF will itself provide 3G services to people living in these areas which will definitely further improve Pakistan’s mobile broadband (MBB) rate.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of IT Ms. Anusha Rahman Khan, Chairman PTA Dr. Ismail Shah, Parliamentarians, senior officials of the Federal and provincial governments and ICT professional from public/private sector. The National Data Center deployed by NTC has the objective to help implementation of the E-governance agenda of the Federal Government.

Today’s speech of IT Minister was both enthusiastic and energetic as Anusha also shed light on 3 years performance of IT Ministry as well. She said that:

“One cannot neglect the growing IT sector of Pakistan due to Ministry’s undue efforts. From Telecom Policy, Cyber crime bill, 850 MHz spectrum auction, day by day increasing MBB penetration, establishment of National Incubation Center and many more, the ministry has achieved greater milestones during its 3 years.”

Anush Rahman also explained the difficulties face by Ministry while all these mentioned projects. She greets NTC by successfully establishing the National Data Center just in a short duration of 5 months.
