vivo X Fold6 Leak Suggests Significant Price Increase Ahead of Launch

vivo is preparing to launch its next foldable smartphone, the vivo X Fold6, in China on June 26. While the official unveiling is just around the corner, several details about the device have already surfaced online. The latest leak focuses on the expected price of the vivo X Fold6, and it suggests that buyers may have to pay considerably more compared to the previous generation.
According to information shared through a leaked image on social media, the vivo X Fold6 could start at CNY 9,999 for the base model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. If the leaked figures turn out to be accurate, the new foldable phone will carry a much higher price tag than its predecessor.

For comparison, the vivo X Fold5 launched with the same memory configuration at a starting price of CNY 6,999. This means the X Fold6 could be more than 40 percent more expensive than the previous model. While the company has not commented on the reported pricing, industry observers believe that rising component costs may be one of the main reasons behind the increase.
The leak also reveals possible prices for other storage variants. The model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is expected to cost CNY 10,999. Meanwhile, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version could be priced at CNY 11,499. The top-end model, featuring 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, may reach CNY 12,499, making it one of the most expensive foldable smartphones in vivo’s lineup.
Despite the higher price, the vivo X Fold6 will bring several notable upgrades. One of its biggest highlights is the large 7,000mAh battery. This capacity is impressive for a foldable smartphone and could help deliver extended battery life for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day.
The smartphone will also offer strong durability features. Reports indicate that it will come with IPX8 and IPX9 ratings, providing resistance against water exposure. Additionally, vivo is said to have improved the hinge mechanism, which may result in a more durable and smoother folding experience.
Performance is another area where the X Fold6 aims to stand out. The device will come with the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor. Combined with high RAM options, the chipset will deliver fast performance for multitasking, gaming, and productivity tasks. The phone will reportedly run OriginOS 6 Fold, which is designed specifically to take advantage of the foldable form factor.

The display is another key attraction. The X Fold6 may feature a large 8.02-inch flexible inner screen, offering plenty of space for entertainment, work, and multitasking.
In the camera department, vivo appears to be focusing on premium photography features. The smartphone will include a powerful 200MP main camera along with a periscope telephoto lens using Sony’s LYT-602 sensor. These upgrades could help deliver better image quality and improved zoom performance.
The vivo X Fold6 will be available in Blue Hole, Black Gold Edition, Salt Lake, and Polar Night color options. With its premium specifications and upgraded features, the device is shaping up to be an ambitious addition to the foldable smartphone market, although its rumored price increase may attract significant attention from consumers.
