Google Maps Stops Working on Some Wear OS Devices

When the world is advancing in mobile phone technologies, people are not putting the focus on Wear OS devices. Same is the case with Google. Google has been slowly improving its Wear OS platform over the past several months. However now, many Wear OS Devices’s users are facing the issue with Google Maps.

Several users are unable to use Google Maps on their Wear OS devices

As pointed out by PunikaWeb several users are unable to use Google Maps on their Wear OS devices. Users are simply greeted by a blank white screen with the Google Maps UI still visible.

Here is the list of devices which are facing this issue,

  • TicWatch Pro
  • TicWatch S2
  • Fossil Q Explorist HR
  • Skagen Falster 2
  • Tag Heuer
  • Misfit smartwatches

It’s not clear what the cause of this bug is, but users have tried to fix the issue by clearing the app’s data and reinstalling the app to no avail. However, according to some report, the issue was with the latest version of Google Maps. It’s possible the issue lies with Google Maps v10.13.3. We hope that Google will soon sort out this matter.

On the other hand, the App has recently added a new type of incidents: slowdowns. We all know that when something happens on the road that slows down cars, Google Maps needs to gather some data. The App even takes a bit of time to change the traffic condition from green to orange, then red, and burgundy. In the meantime, if you’re driving in the wrong direction then it doesn’t suggest a re-route because it doesn’t yet know something wrong has happened.
