WhatsApp to Bid Farewell to These Handsets on New Year’s Eve. The most famous message App, WhatsApp has announced that it has decided to stop offering to old smartphones that have windows 8.0 or older version. The tech giant WhatsApp will good bye these devices after December 31,2017.

This announcement was made by WhatsApp in a blog post in 2016. It had detailed list of phones that will be put off from its system for further developments.

WhatsApp’s blog post stated as:

“When we started WhatsApp in 2009, people’s use of mobile devices looked very different from today. The Apple App Store was only a few months old. About 70 per cent of smartphones sold at the time had operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia

WhatsApp keep on introducing new features to remain intact with their users. The company is striving hard to provide the best customer experience and has revealed that they want to focus their efforts on the mobile platforms that are used by maximum number of people.

Phones which will not be able to Function WhatsApp from new year’s ever are listed below:

  • Nokia S40
  • Blackberry OS
  • Blackberry 10
  • Phones with Android version 2.3.7 or older
