WhatsApp announced a new Group calling video feature at Facebook’s F8 developer conference in May. WhatsApp revealed that it would bring group calling with both voice and video support. Yesterday WhatsApp announced that WhatsApp Group Video Calling Feature is now live now.

WhatsApp Group video Calling feature is available for both iOS and Android. The new group calling feature of WhatsApp supports up to four people irrespective of where these people live.

WhatsApp has engineered this feature to work in areas which lack fast internet facility so that one can video chat a friend or family member from far-flung areas.

Whatsapp group calls also end to end encrypted like the previous chats in the platform.

WhatsApp has 1.5 billion monthly active users, so a lot of people are expected to try this new features. Initially, WhatsApp launched video chatting in 2016 and voice calling in 2014.

Facebook-owned company WhatsApp is making new changes in order to curb the spread of fake new via its social messaging service. WhatsApp plans to limit message forwarding, making it harder for people to forward messages to larger groups. This decision has come after the Indian authorities sought curbs on the spread of rumours that have led to violent incidents in the country. WhatsApp Message Forwarding is a tool with which people forward each other messages without any authentication.
