WhatsApp Introduces Smarter Sticker Search Tools for Faster Chats

WhatsApp is working to make chats more expressive and faster. Stickers play a big role in how people communicate on the app. To improve this experience, WhatsApp is testing new sticker search tools. These tools are currently available to some beta users on Android.

Earlier, WhatsApp introduced a feature that suggests stickers while users type messages. When a user enters an emoji in the chat bar, related stickers appear instantly. This saves time and effort. Users no longer need to open the sticker tray or scroll through many packs. Conversations feel more natural and engaging.

Now, WhatsApp is taking another step forward. With the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.1.18 update, a new sticker search experience is being tested. This update allows users to filter stickers and create custom text stickers. The goal is to make sticker discovery simpler and more flexible.

The new feature adds quick filters inside the sticker keyboard. These filters appear as small labels such as Hi, Haha, Love, Sad, Wow, Yay, and Yes. Each label represents a common reaction used in daily chats. With a single tap, users can start a sticker search. There is no need to type manually.

When a filter is selected, WhatsApp inserts the related keyword into the sticker search bar. The app then searches for stickers linked to that word. This search is based on emoji and text associations. Stickers that match the intent appear right away.

Stickers saved in the user’s personal collection are shown first. This helps users find their favorite stickers quickly. After that, WhatsApp expands the search to its wider sticker sources. This includes public sticker content available on the platform. Users can discover new stickers without leaving the app or browsing external packs.

Another important part of this update is custom text stickers. At the top of the search results, users may see special preset stickers. These are not taken from existing packs. Instead, they are created using predefined templates. The templates display the word or phrase typed by the user.

If users do not select a filter, they can type any text into the search bar. WhatsApp instantly generates text-based stickers using that input. The text appears in different styles and formats. This makes each sticker feel unique and fun.

This feature turns the sticker search into a simple creation tool. Users can experiment with words and see instant results. It is useful when no suitable sticker exists for a specific message. It also adds a creative touch to conversations.

Currently, these features are available to some beta testers who installed the latest WhatsApp beta from the Google Play Store. WhatsApp is rolling out the update gradually. This helps the team monitor performance and fix issues early.

Some users on the stable version may also see parts of this feature. Once testing is complete, WhatsApp is expected to release it to more users. These updates show WhatsApp’s focus on making chats faster, easier, and more expressive for everyone.
