This new setting will give users additional control to decide who in your friend list can add you to groups. The new  “My Contacts Except…” option will be seen in the app that will allow you to filter people you don’t like.

Why this Feature is Launched?

WhatsApp groups came as a blessing for us however with time when everyone from your contacts started adding you to multiple groups things got worse. Usually, people leave groups they don’t like but some sticky admins add you to the same group again and again which is quite annoying. With time the same posts started circulating in all groups as the members of groups were same, compromising the limited space of your device. So this overall scenario was suffocating more people and something needed to be done. At that particular time, WhatsApp launched this amazing group privacy feature that will be loved by everyone for sure.

How to Enable WhatsApp new Privacy Feature for Android?

To enable the new WhatsApp privacy settings for groups:

  • Go to the settings menu of WhatsApp
  • Tap on Account
  • Click in privacy
  • Fine “My  Contact Except” option
  • Now add the names of people from whom you do not want to be added in a group
