WhatsApp Rolls Out Full Liquid Glass Design to More iPhone Users

WhatsApp is expanding its new Liquid Glass design to more iPhone users. The latest update brings the redesigned interface to the chat screen, completing a major part of WhatsApp’s transition to the new visual style on iOS.
According to WABetaInfo, the update is available with WhatsApp for iOS version 26.35.72 through the App Store. WhatsApp Business is also receiving the redesigned interface, giving users of both apps a more consistent experience.
WhatsApp Rolls Out Full Liquid Glass Design to More iPhone Users
WhatsApp started introducing the Liquid Glass design to different parts of its iOS app in earlier updates. The new look initially appeared across elements such as the navigation interface, buttons, and chat list.
However, the conversation screen continued to use the older design for many users. WhatsApp is now changing that with the latest update.
The full Liquid Glass experience covers several parts of the chat interface, including the chat bar, navigation bar, message menu, reaction tray, and message bubbles.
Chat Bar Gets a Floating Design
One of the most noticeable changes is the chat bar at the bottom of conversations. WhatsApp now gives it a floating appearance with a translucent background.
The design allows content behind the chat bar to remain partially visible. The button for jumping to the latest message also follows the same visual style.
The new chat bar gives WhatsApp a design that looks more closely aligned with Apple’s overall iOS interface.

WhatsApp has also redesigned the navigation bar at the top of the conversation screen. It now uses a transparent appearance that allows the wallpaper and messages behind it to show through slightly.
The interface also uses a subtle fade effect to maintain readability while keeping the Liquid Glass appearance.
WhatsApp designed the new navigation bar to remain compatible with Apple’s Liquid Glass interface as newer iOS versions arrive.
Message Menu Also Gets the New Look
The Liquid Glass redesign extends to the menu that appears when users press and hold a message.
The reaction tray and context menu now use a translucent background instead of the previous appearance. Users can still see the conversation behind these elements without the traditional heavy blur effect.
The updated elements also adjust to both light and dark modes.
WhatsApp Refreshes Message Bubbles
WhatsApp has made another visual change to message bubbles. The new bubbles feature more rounded corners, giving conversations a softer and more modern appearance.
The app has also removed the traditional borders around photos, videos, and GIFs in conversations. This gives media a more frameless appearance and helps the entire chat screen follow the same modern design language.
WhatsApp Expands the Rollout
The full Liquid Glass experience is now reaching more users through WhatsApp for iOS 26.35.72. However, the rollout is still being expanded, so some users may not see every change immediately.
WhatsApp has gradually enabled the new design for users instead of making it available to everyone at once. Users who already have the latest App Store version but still see the older chat interface may receive the redesign in a future rollout.
The wider release also comes shortly before Apple’s expected iOS 27 launch on September 14. WhatsApp appears to be completing its Liquid Glass transition ahead of the new iOS version.
For users who have not received the redesign yet, there may not be anything else they need to do apart from keeping WhatsApp updated. The new interface should become available to more accounts as the rollout continues.
