In this era when all tech apps are being rated now and then when it comes to data privacy the results were quite shocking as Apple, Adobe, Yahoo, Dropbox,Credo Mobile, Wikimedia (by Wikipedia), WordPress and Sonic.net were among the highest scorers and WhatsApp Scores Poor in Data Privacy. WhatsApp scored lowest by securing 1 star out of 5.

Electronic Frontier Foundation’s (EFF) most recent security investigate information protection is finally out. They carried an investigation in which all major Apps got rated in terms of data privacy. The report was named as “Who has your Back?”

The investigation was held on the following criteria:

• Enlightening clients concerning government information demands
• Taking after industry-acknowledged best practices
• Exposure of approaches on information maintenance
• Exposure of government substance evacuation demands

Google the largest search engine used over the globe got 3 stars where as the largest Social Connecting Site Facebook got 4 stars.

Besides WhatsApp only one other organization got a rating of 1-star. This happened because both of these organizations  neglect to inform their users when their information is requested by the administration and don’t uncover their information maintenance strategies.

In an official proclamation, EFF said:

One year time to improve their rating was given to WhatsApp but they failed to recover their errors despite of the given time, they didn’t take any major steps to improve and ensure the privacy policy for the users of WhatsApp.

This report was carried out for the fifth time due to the increased focus on security issues of online Data Privacy. They also have given a specific criteria to reach to a rating for 5 stars at maximum.
