WhatsApp to Support New Inline Image Style for Notifications

Recently, it has been reported that WhatsApp is testing support for New Inline Image Style for Notifications. Currently, this Popular chat app shows inline photos in the notifications tab but with the arrival of Android Pie, WhatsApp will show images in a new format.

WhatsApp will now support the new MessagingStyle notification format for expandable and collapsible inline images in near future. The text messages will still show above or below it.

WhatsApp is Testing New Inline Image Style for Notifications

This feature is currently testing in beta channel by WhatsApp. An another feature spotted in Android beta is a new sticker pack called Biscuit.

This feature will only work on a device running Android 9 Pie. So all phones running on old Android versions or even Oreo will not be able to see it in beta or after the stable release as well. This doesn’t work for GIFs and videos.

WhatsApp is also working on Dark Mode. According to reports, the messaging mobile application may bring the ‘dark mode’ feature as part of its upcoming updates.  Moreover, Facebook has also announced the launch of the feature for its Messenger app. However, the company has not revealed any release date yet. WhatsApp is also working on the Swipe to Reply feature for the Android app.
