The Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp, keeps on introducing new things. This time a new update for WhatsApp for iOS has arrived. It makes the primarily texting app more like a stock dialer. The update is also said to specially bring new features to iOS 10-running iPhone and iPad devices.
WhatsApp Update for iOS Comes with New Features
According to Phone Arena, the recent update, which punched in at 84.2 MB, allows users answer WhatsApp calls directly from the lock-screen. Similar to receiving standard phone calls through the stock dialer. This is possible due to iOS 10’s CallKit that lets third-party apps to run like stock phone apps.
Recently, the Facebook-owned messaging service, WhatsApp pushed out an update for its users. Thus becoming one of the first corporations to make use of iOS 10’s support for third-party Siri incorporation. It supports users to command Siri to place a phone call or send a message via the WhatsApp app.
The new WhatsApp for iOS update also emanates with other new features. And features that are already there in the beta version of WhatsApp for Windows Phone. For instance, there is a new widget that makes it easier for users to check if there are unread messages.
Another feature that the WhatsApp update gets is the new gesture command that allows users shift from the front-facing camera to the back-facing camera or vice-versa. With just a double tap on the phone’s screen.
The announcement of the new update comes just after the news that WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone has been improved with the addition of a camera icon at the bottom of the Settings bar in the chat window. In order for users to faultlessly share images and videos with anybody they are talking with.
