Workshop on Internet Security hosted by PTA and APNIC

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in collaboration with Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) is hosted a 3 days technical training workshop on Internet Resource Management, DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

The workshop was scheduled to be held from 18-20 July at a Best Western Hotel in Islamabad. The objective to host this International training workshop was to provide a capacity building opportunity for technical community members.
The training workshop highlighted key essentials of Internet resource management. It focused on understanding the structures, processes, procedures and policies involved in requesting, allocating and managing Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and Autonomous System (AS) numbers.
This workshop is first of its kind hosted in Islamabad and assisted by APNIC.

During day 2 and 3, basic understanding and HAnd on exposure to IPV6  is provided. IPv6 addressing and architectures and the issues related to the deployment, transition and co-existence with IPv4 are also be examined.

The key features regarding IPv6 configurations on host computers, as well as IPv6 network building and configuration scenarios with lab work were also examined in this workshop.

This was surely a great event as the international trainers from APNIC came in Pakistan to teach about internet security with lab exercises.
