Xiaomi 18 Pro Geekbench Listing Confirms Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro Chipset
A Xiaomi 18 Pro prototype has surfaced on Geekbench with a new model number, confirming the flagship's next-gen Qualcomm chipset weeks ahead of its official unveiling.

Xiaomi’s next flagship has already leaked its own chipset. A day after the company officially teased the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, a prototype carrying the phone’s specs turned up on Geekbench, confirming the processor everyone expected but hadn’t yet seen in writing.
The listing shows the device running on Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, still going by its internal codename, SM8975, since Qualcomm hasn’t formally unveiled it yet.

A New Model Number Worth Noting
The prototype appeared under model number M154FF, which breaks from Xiaomi’s usual pattern. The company has typically used a year-and-month-based numbering system for its phones, so a code like this one stands out.
That alone doesn’t suggest anything is wrong with the listing. But it’s the kind of detail worth flagging rather than glossing over, since it departs from Xiaomi’s own established convention.
The Benchmark Numbers, With a Caveat
This particular unit posted a single-core score of 2,871 and a multi-core score of 8,836 on Geekbench 7. Other Geekbench entries tied to the same M154FF model number have shown considerably higher numbers, including one run reaching 3,619 single-core and 11,842 multi-core, a reminder that scores on unfinished hardware can shift significantly between individual test runs.
That spread is normal at this stage. Prototypes typically run on unfinished software and unoptimized thermal profiles, so a single benchmark run says more about where development stands than what the finished retail phone will actually deliver.
What the Listing Confirms About the Chipset
The processor’s headline figure is a peak clock speed of 5.01GHz on its fastest core, part of an eight-core layout that’s expected to pair three efficiency cores with a mid-tier cluster and two high-performance prime cores. That architecture points to a meaningful clock-speed jump over the outgoing Snapdragon 8 Elite generation.
The tested unit carried 16GB of RAM, though Xiaomi is likely to offer the Xiaomi 18 Pro in multiple memory configurations once it’s official, as it has with previous generations.
Software and What’s Still Unconfirmed
On the software side, the listing points to HyperOS 4 running on Android 17, matching what Xiaomi has already previewed for the update. Separate certification filings have also indicated 100W wired charging support across both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
What the Geekbench listing doesn’t confirm is everything else: display specs, camera hardware, battery size, and pricing remain outside the scope of a benchmark database entry, and Xiaomi hasn’t set an exact unveiling date beyond confirming a launch later this month.
The Bigger Picture
This listing lands alongside a steady stream of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro sightings tied to rival phones, including an iQOO 16 prototype that scored lower on both tests. Qualcomm is expected to formally announce the chip this month, which typically triggers a wave of matching leaks from device makers racing to be first with benchmark proof of the new silicon.
For Xiaomi, the pattern is familiar. Benchmark leaks ahead of a flagship launch have become a routine part of the pre-launch cycle, serving less as genuine surprises and more as confirmation of specs that were already expected. The real test for the Xiaomi 18 Pro will come once retail units, running finished software, hit Geekbench after launch, until then, these numbers are a preview, not a verdict.
