Xiaomi’s First Triple Camera Phone Mi 9 Goes Official

There had been hype about the highly anticipated Xiaomi’s first triple rear camera phone for many weeks. Xiaomi lovers had been waiting anxiously for this device. The good part is that their wait is over as Xiaomi Mi 9 went official earlier today.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Debuts With 20W Fast Charging Support

The latest phone by Xiaomi features 6.39-inches Super AMOLED panel with 1080p+ resolution. The phone is claimed to have a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. It sports a smaller waterdrop notch. Xiaomi Mi 9 camera contains the 48MP module, a Sony IMX586 with a Quad Bayer filter.  Sony IMX586 is a large 1/2” sensor with 0.8µm pixels, which can be combined into 1.6µm Superpixels. In addition to that, there is also a 16MP ultra-wide camera with 117° field of view. This sensor has 1.0µm pixels and an f/2.2 lens with autofocus, which allows you to shoot macros from a 4cm distance.

On the other hand, the phone also features a 20MP selfie camera (f/2.0, 0.9µm). The company also claimed that some regions will have phones with AI-powered face unlock. It will not only reduce the distortion in the ultra-wide camera but will prompt you to switch between cameras when it thinks you can get a better shot.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 also support a Charge Turbo that can deliver up to 27W over USB-C. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. It comes with two storage options of 64GB and 128GB. Game Turbo mode of the handset tunes the CPU and GPU to deliver a smoother gaming experience.
