The partnership of Zong with Fortumo is surely a smart choice. As Fortumo’s is an impressive platform currently available to over 1.3 billion people in 16 Asian countries.  At global level, the company covers 95 countries and reaches over 3 billion end-users with its carrier billing solution. It has also been working with Telenor Pakistan, since July 2014.

The number of smart phone users has reached to almost 56 million. According to the World Bank report, Pakistan has a credit card penetration of less than 1 percent. It shows that the nation is still missing many advantages of technology.

Fortumo said in a statement that;

“Millions of people in emerging markets are accessing the internet only from their phones… but cannot access paid content as a majority of them do not own credit cards. We are looking forward to enabling our merchants access to this growing audience through carrier billing.”

With this collaboration, Zong’s 19% mobile share in market can get the service of easy paying bill facility.
