Galaxy Watch7 to Come with Blood Sugar Monitoring System

Non-invasive blood sugar monitoring is becoming a significant focus for wearable technology, with Samsung reportedly gearing up to introduce this feature in its next-generation Galaxy Watch7. A recent report from South Korea indicates that Samsung may unveil smartwatches capable of monitoring users’ blood sugar levels, marking a significant advancement in health-tracking capabilities.

According to the report, Hon Pak, the Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics and head of digital healthcare, recently met with the Samsung Health advisory board members at the company’s Medical Center in Seoul. The meeting aimed to discuss the progress made in developing a blood sugar monitoring system and its potential integration into Samsung’s smart wearables.

The discussion reportedly covered various topics, including advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) for health monitoring and improvements in detecting heart arrhythmias and hypertension. However, we currently do not know the specific details about how the blood sugar monitoring feature will work.

The upcoming Galaxy Watch7 series will be the first to introduce this blood sugar monitoring capability. The smartwatches will debut on July 10, alongside other devices such as the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Fold6, and Flip6. The Galaxy Watch7 series will also feature a new Exynos W940 chipset, which is claimed to be 50% more efficient than its predecessor, as well as up to 32GB of storage.

The inclusion of blood sugar monitoring in smartwatches could revolutionize health tracking, especially for individuals with diabetes who require regular monitoring of their blood glucose levels. This feature would allow users to conveniently track their blood sugar levels throughout the day without the need for traditional finger-prick tests.

Samsung’s move into non-invasive blood sugar monitoring aligns with the broader trend of wearables evolving beyond simple fitness trackers to more comprehensive health monitoring devices. As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see further integration of health-tracking features in wearable devices, providing users with valuable insights into their health and wellness.
