JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek, highlighted the chip’s potential impact, stating, “The Dimensity 9300+ will help us continue to build a rich ecosystem of generative AI applications thanks to the chip’s broad LLM support and on-device LoRA Fusion. To enhance these AI experiences, the Dimensity 9300+ offers impressive performance and enhancements to speed up LLM inference, running tokens much faster for a better user experience.”

MediaTek manufactured the Dimensity 9300+ using the 3rd generation TSMC 4nm process, featuring one Arm Cortex-X4 core operating at 3.4 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. It introduces the NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration Technology, improving AI processing compared to previous-generation processors.

The chip includes the APU 790 AI engine, supporting LLMs with 1B, 7B, and 13B parameters, with scalability up to 33B. MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 9300+ can run LLMs with seven billion parameters at 22 tokens per second, more than double the rate of competitive mass-market solutions.

For gaming enthusiasts, the Dimensity 9300+ offers a 2nd generation hardware ray tracing engine with an Arm Immortalis-G720 GPU, enabling ray tracing experiences at 60fps. MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology (MAGT) enhances power efficiency in popular gaming titles, extending battery life and maintaining device temperature.

The Imagiq 990 ISP enhances low-light photography, providing 18-bit RAW processing. It also features a built-in AI Semantic Analysis Video Engine for advanced AI videography capabilities, including 16 scene segmentation with real-time video capture to reduce noise, increase brightness, and enhance colours.

In conclusion, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ SoC represents a significant step forward in on-device AI capabilities for smartphones, offering improved performance, enhanced AI processing, and advanced gaming and photography features.
