How To Add Captions and Subtitles to Instagram Reels?

Instagram, a famous social media platform owned by Meta, is widely used for sharing photos. It keeps on introducing new features to enhance user experience. Initially, the platform only focused on photos, however, now it has become more common for short videos. Insta users also upload longer videos, similar to YouTube to attract a broader audience. Instagram Reels became a trend in Pakistan due to various reasons. It serves as an alternative to TikTok. The reels provide a platform for users in Pakistan to showcase their creativity and talent through short videos. Moreover, they have the potential to generate viral content, as popular videos can quickly gain traction and spread across the platform. Recently, Instagram introduced a caption feature to automatically generate captions and subtitles for videos. It helps users better understand the content, particularly in longer videos with detailed information.

How To Enable Auto-generated Captions On Instagram Reels?

Note that to avail of this feature your Instagram app should be up-to-date. Check your updates in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), before heading to the auto-generated captions settings.

• Open the Instagram app on your smartphone.

• Tap on the Reels tab next to the post icon at the bottom.

• Play a random Reel and tap on the three dots on the side.

• A control panel will appear, tap on “Manage captions” above the QR code option.
• Turn on “Captions” to enable auto-generated captions for Instagram Reels.

It is pertinent to mention that auto-generated captions are available only in English. However, other languages are anticipated to be added in the future. Instagram is also working on a new feature called “Blend,” which aims to create a personalized feed of Reels for you and your friends.
