Instagram Standalone App will Facilitate Users in Shopping

Instagram is working to facilitate users in shopping. Now users will be able to browse through goods and buy them directly via Instagram Standalone App.

The company is still in development phase and there are also chances that it may not release this new app or could be canceled. However, sources familiar with its development said that Instagram believes it is well positioned to make a major expansion into e-commerce. Still there is no information about the launch of this new Instagram Standalone App.

Now Shopping will be so Easy with Instagram Standalone App

Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg said that more than 25 million businesses have already Instagram accounts while 2 million of them are advertisers. At least one business is followed by four in five Instagram users.  According to the Verge, this new Instagram Standalone app would allow the company to provide a dedicated home for an increasingly popular activity on Instagram while also expanding opportunities for revenue.

According to a person familiar with this development that Facebook can also introduce more tools for those merchants who are creating their businesses on Instagram.

In November in 2016, Instagram has started testing a shopping feature, and introduced it in March of last year. It allows businesses to tag products directly in posts. Users are able to click on the tag and it opens a window in the app where they can buy it.
