After facing continuous loss in its mobile industry, LG is planning to lessen the smartphone manufacturing. Now LG CEO, Cho Seong-jin, confirmed at CES that LG will Launch New Smartphones when it is Needed.

He said that

“We will unveil new smartphones when it is needed. But we will not launch it just because other rivals do. We plan to retain existing models longer by, for instance, unveiling more variant models of the G series or V series.”

He also said that company is now focusing on more such products on which the company can sustain. He added,

We found it is important to retain a good platform for a long [time] and concerns rise over the supply of lithium materials,

The company is now focusing more on AI powered devices. Last year at CES, LG has introduced a new deep learning technology. DeepThinQ. The company also announced that it will include Wi-Fi in all its premium devices. Then in June, LG has launched its Artificial intelligence lab in South Korea.

Recently, LG has announced its new AI powered brand, ThinQ. The company also revealed ThinQ Speaker with Google Assistant. LG worked with Google to provide full assistant experience through its smart ThinQ speaker.
