Blockbuster Game Baldur’s Gate 3 Is Not Coming to iPads

Adventure game, Baldur’s Gate 3 garnered fame due to its adaptation of D&D mechanics, captivating storytelling, and ability to capture the essence of its cherished predecessors while introducing modern gameplay elements and visuals. There had been many rumors and leaks circulating about this popular game that the massive Dungeons and Dragons adventure game will be making its way to the iPad. However, it doesn’t seem true. Recently, a publisher put the rumor to rest.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Won’t Land On iPads

The silicon giant, Apple has been actively working on hardware improvements to entice AAA game developers to their ecosystem, including Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Apple even developed a game porting kit, which has been unofficially used by ambitious users to port Windows games to Apple Silicon. Larian Studios created a native port of Baldur’s Gate 3 for Mac. It has had its ups and downs performance-wise, however, the latest patch fixes most of the problems that made it unplayable later in the game. Anyhow, it seems that the iPad won’t be getting the game anytime soon. Larian Studios’ head of publishing Michael Douse commented on an early post on X about the matter. He shelled the rumor down, saying: “Ur source is silly.”

It is worth noting that Baldur’s Gate 3 arrived on Mac via Steam in September 2023. It received awards for its gameplay and affluent storytelling. The system requirements are somewhat modest, with an M1 chip and 8GB of RAM being sufficient to play, although an M1 Pro or better is recommended. Storage-wise, a solid-state drive with a footprint of around 150GB is required.
