OnePlus Pad 2 Is Coming In Second Half Of 2024

OnePlus launched its first tablet called the OnePlus Pad last February. It was one of the better Android tablets at the time. Reports claim that now OnePlus is all set to launch its successor, the Pad 2. There have been no words from OnePlus about the Pad 2, but a tipster claims the OnePlus Pad 2 will be launched in the second half of 2024. The tipster not only revealed that the OnePlus Pad 2 is in the works but also dished out its launch window.

Anticipated OnePlus Pad 2 Specs

The OnePlus Pad 2 is anticipated to pick up where the original Pad left off. It will come with a pretty good design, brisk performance, and 67W wired charging. The original Pad was criticized for its use of a proprietary charging standard, the camera-based ‘face unlock’ instead of a fingerprint scanner, and the lack of some ecosystem features at launch. Now, we need to see if the company brings significant changes to improve user experience. OnePlus Pad 2 is tipped to boast comprehensive USB-PD charging support and a fingerprint scanner, for starters. The company is expected to copy Samsung tablets and offer microSD storage as well. There have been no further words regarding the specs and features of the upcoming OnePlus tablet yet.

For all those unaware, the OnePlus Pad is powered by the Dimensity 9000 SoC. It comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. Moreover, it’s built around a 144Hz 11.61″ LCD of 2,800×2,000-pixel resolution and packs a 9,510 mAh battery with 67W charging support. It comes with four speakers onboard and features two cameras – a 13MP primary and an 8MP selfie.

The first OnePlus Android tablet offers an exceptional 7:5 aspect display – an aspect sitting between 3:2 and 4:3. It’s an 11.61-inch 2800x2000px IPS LCD with a variable refresh rate that goes up to 144Hz. The panel reaches 500 nits and offers a solid 1400:1 contrast. OnePlus’s thin bezels allow for an 88.14% screen-to-body ratio. At the back, there is a 13MP shooter that’s 4K video-capable with an 8MP 1080p selfie snapper.

The Pad has four speakers, one for each corner of the tablet, with support for Dolby Atmos. Moreover, the tablet boasts a massive 9,510mAh battery with a 67W SuperVOOC charging speed. It can fully charge in 80 minutes. OnePlus provides seamless transitions between the Pad and OnePlus smartphones. It even has the option for the tablet to use the phone’s network connection to access the internet.
